The Canopy Birding Tower (cont.)

Paul and Coley work the braces as Natalie controls the ropes.

Paul and Coley are at the fourth level of the Tower. Can you find them? Dec., 2005

Natalie raises a small brace with the rope system
Natalie is an expert Bobcat operator.

The team uses ropes, pulleys, and a Bobcat to hoist heavy braces up ... and up... the Tower. Can you trace the rope from pullies to the Bobcat... how about that physics lesson.

After tying the rope to the brace and threading it through a system of pulleys, the rope is tied to the Bobcat. Natalie backs up the Bobcat and up goes the brace.

Tying the rope to the Bobcat
A Bobcat is used to pull the braces (some 250 lbs.) up the Tower.

Back goes the Bobcat... up goes the brace
The Tower is going up at a fast clip. The higher levels will go quickly since each level is smaller. Project completion is scheduled for February, 2006.

This will be the tallest birding tower in the United States.

Please buy a step and help with this project.

The tower is now at 100 feet (below images, Feb. 2006);
